The Virtual 2020 MALSCE Convention a Great Success
Above: A screenshot from the Virtual Reception, Awards Ceremony, and Auction

Having decide to cancel the March 2020 MALSCE Convention due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, MALSCE leaders decided to hold the 2020 convention virtually. A Convention Planning Committee, which was co-chaired by John McElwee, Cape Cod Chapter president and Dan Bremser, MALSCE vice president and staffed by other Cape Cod Chapter and MALSCE leaders, was charged with the task of presenting this virtual event. Thanks to the efforts of this group, after two months of planning the Virtual 2020 MALSCE Convention took place the mornings of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, June 17, 18 and 19. Feedback from the more than 100 individuals who participated in the convention indicates that this virtual event was well-received.

Organized under the theme  20/20 Foresight , the Virtual Convention featured ten general and concurrent sessions, 16 organizations participating in a virtual exhibit, an online plan contest, MALSCE Annual Meeting and Virtual reception, awards ceremony and auction to benefit the MALSCE Education Trust benefit.

COVID-19 risk mitigation measures will dictate whether the 2021 MALSCE Convention will be an in-person or virtual event.
Sad News:
